Stages

Grades 4–6

More independence, coding and engineering design, and a confident start to middle school.

3 teachers

Grades 4–6 at Ghaima

In the upper grades pupils learn to plan a project, share out the work and present their results with confidence. Maths and science deepen in English, while Arabic, Islamic education and UAE social studies continue in Arabic, with weekly free reading in the school library.

In the maker space pupils move from Scratch to Python, design models with the laser cutter and the 3D printer under the teacher’s eye, and build small robots they program themselves. In Grade 6 every pupil presents a final project that solves a real problem at school or in the neighbourhood.

Do pupils use tablets or laptops?

We use school computers in the maker space and coding lessons, and ask for no personal device. Most of the day stays with paper, tools and conversation.

How do you prepare pupils for middle school?

We build habits of time management, longer assignments and presentations, and support parents in choosing the next school with reference letters and a portfolio of the pupil’s work.

Are the maker-space tools safe?

Yes. Pupils use tools suited to their age, the teacher runs the laser cutter and the printer, and there are safety glasses and written rules at every station.
